I had decided to defer my enrollment at UC Davis until the winter quarter for various personal reasons. I was told that in order to get a dorm I would need to go onto the waiting list, so I did. I still have not gotten a dorm, and thus I cannot attend school. Other problems have also arisen since then, so I believe the best solution would be to extend my deferment until the following school year. I tried to contact the Undergraduate offices today only to find that no one will be there until the 5th (which is when instruction begins). Will I still be able to extend my deferment, or am I screwed?

You’re not off the waiting list? That’s funny. I was told by Student Housing (near the end of fall quarter) that there are vacancies in the dorm right now.

I would recommend you live off-campus then. There are apartments close by campus and less expensive. A good place to search would be Uloop

I guess it’s best to speak with someone in the undergraduate admissions office. Why not call them on the 5th? Or drop by the office in case you need to fill out an application for extended leave.

I’d recommend contacting our office and leaving a message for the deferred enrollment officer to see what options you might have left. Be sure to ask for the deferred enrollment officer and you will be transfered to leave a message.
