Extent of Humor in Roommate Essay

<p>I know this essay has been discussed before, and it is generally considered okay, from what I understand (?) to use a less formal tone in this particular essay. But would it be pushing it to write an entirely humorous essay? That is, entirely based on a joke? My voice would still come through in some way, but it wouldn’t necessarily reflect “what I do, who I am as a person” I guess it would more reflect my approach to life than anything. Would this be acceptable?</p>

<p>Approach to life is fine. That’s part of “who I am as a person”.</p>

<p>I mean, as long as you’re not into pen*s jokes, you’re set.</p>

<p>My daughter did a humorous essay for that one and she got in. I would just suggest that your voice really come though though.</p>

Should I tie it together by concluding on a more serious note or would the essay have more “effect” if I maintained this humorous premise through to the very end of the letter?</p>

<p>And word length doesn’t really matter. As long as you’re under the character limit, you’re fine.</p>
