Well, I think since I have a pretty decent voice I’d like to send in a few clips of me singing. I dont do any theater, chorus, etc but I would like to start in BS and I think showing talent and extra effort is a good thing. Would that be to strange/creepy?

Think “Hilary Duff’s Audition Tape” in Raise Your Voice

Dear Girl Meets World,
I am on the music faculty of one of the top BS’s and would suggest that you arrange ahead of time to meet with one of the vocal teachers and/or music director to set up a lesson and audition. You might be asked to come sit in and sing in one of their ensembles, to not only evaluate your ability but to judge your level of music experience and sight reading ability. It is important for the school to see how you would fit into their school music department as an asset.
I would not send in a CD.
Good luck!

I would agree with szcbassoon. Demonstrate your talent with the director at w/e school your looking at. The genuine thing is much better than a CD.

From what little I know, most schools already have a pretty huge amount of admissions material and do not look kindly on additional material these days. Ask first, and if a school is interested, send a CD. Otherwise, don’t.
