Extra Curriculars Question: Is this too much?

Okay, so I’m incredibly passionate about this specific club at my school. I really love it, even though I’ve been a member for only a year!(Age requirement).

So naturally I’m mentioning it as one of my most passionate activities! I’m debating on if I should put a link to a video of us raising money at a football game. We raised nearly 300$ and you see my face one or two times. IT is barely 3 minutes in length and it looks professional.
Is this too much? I really think that it will be a hook. We have a school “profile” that has how much money we have raised and my name as a member. I’m thinking about putting that also… We raised almost 5,000$ in 3 months.

Is that too much? The video is a specific example of what type of service I am involved in. The website shows the progress… I’m putting the links on my extra piece of paper where I am elaborating on what I am involved in.

Thanks =)

Do it mate.

Habitat right? 16 age requirement

habitat for humanity? awww i wanna do that. damn it there’s a age requirement

humane society bumped their age limit from 16 to 18. so upset cause im a vegetarian, i wanna help. hate my age :frowning: lol

you should do it

Since you are considering sending something that needs to be viewed online, you might want to consider sending an email with links embedded to your contact people. I know that if I got a piece of paper and had to type in a web address, I probably wouldn’t do it. BUT, if I got an email where all I had to do was click (especially if I knew it was only 3 minutes long) I would be MUCH more likely to take a look.

Ooh! That’s a great extracurricular! We’re raising money to build a well for a school in Africa! It’s harder though because we’re a middle school… :frowning: What is the money that you help raise going towards?

agreed with buritto. email it to them

I’ll email it… It isn’t habitat for humanity. That is 18+ and it is during weekdays most of the time. HH is huge in my city, we have the 3rd biggest volunteer base I believe(We got a chapel talk about it once).

This is something for rebuilding schools in Northern Uganda. I was going to be a club leader, but I couldn’t because I’m a newspaper writer(They meet too many times a week for being a head honcho of both).

Can’t you just download the video from the website and burn it onto a disc or something? All the adcoms I talk to said they would appreciate it very much if we could do that (as I was sending them some sort of video too!). And yes, attach a separate sheet elaborating on the activity as well as stating the link to the website too, at least that’s what I did on my application (I needed to send them the links to the sites of the volunteer groups I work for just like you).

Maybe you would also want to shoot an email to the adcom at the schools you’re applying too and see what they prefer! Best of luck!

email it. put ur reference code on the email stating you’re a prospective applicant and if you could take a moment of their time

I’m sending them in an email, because the site is being updated up until January 20th with our totals and I would rather have them look at the link.

Habitat is 16 at my school…

Quoted from the site:
“Is there an age limit for Habitat for Humanity AmeriCorps participants?
The minimum age requirement is 18; but no maximum age limit exists.”

Alright well at my school 10th graders do habitat…O well. I don’t think there should be 18 year old limit on helping people build houses. There not exactly sending off the helpers.
