Extra-curriculars :]

What extra-curriculars do you do? How many hours a day/week? What school did you get into?

I’m not saying there’s a definite correlation between the two, but I’m just curioussss…

Thanks!

I’ll answer for my daughter. She is entering 9th at Mercersburg. She has been a class officer for all three years at middle school, is in latin club, captain of soccer, ice hockey and lacrosse teams (decent player, not a standout though), has captained a relay for life team for 3 years, leads or decent parts in two middle school musicals, orchestra (violin), chorus, danced for many years (but not for the last 3 as we had moved), does volunteer work probably 4 times a year at a food pantry…She is also a straight A student.
She loves to do all this, and is a natural leader. She only applied to 4 schools that offered merit scholarships; Westminster, Suffield, Western Reserve and Mercersburg.
She did not receive the scholarships, and was WL’d at Westminster and Suffield. We also applied for FA.
Although her list looks lengthy, she is very involved in each activity, usually having a leadership role. In many cases, the ecs meet during school.
Hope this helps.
