Extracuriccular Short Answer

I’ve had the blessing to get free apps to all my tops colleges! However, Lewis & Clark still requires a common app for admission so I’m forced to fill it out. I’m unsure of how well written this is or if my voice is clear enough. It can only be 1,000 characters, and right now its about 800. Any insight on how to improve this will be greatly appreciated!

Prompt: Please briefly elaborate on one of your extracurricular activities or work experiences in the space below (1000 character maximum).

It’s easy to admit that I’ve only truly felt at home in the forest, the great wise trees rising up and surrounding me with comfort and security. I have always felt it was under-appreciated, as though the environment held no long-term importance to humanity, and I was helpless to change this view –a war between good and evil, and I’m on the good side out of ammo and food reserves. I never fathomed I could start a club and change my school’s view on the environment. I thought I would always be helpless. Environmental Awareness Cub has amplified my passion for the environment and emphasized my ability to lead –something I wasn’t aware I had. I’ve begun my part in protecting the environment, and in return it has rewarded me with the priceless discovery of who I am.

Thank you so much!

Nice!! Here is a suggestion:
good and evil, and I’m on the good side, but out of ammo and food reserves.
That’s a really long sentence, but I can hear your voice, and I wouldn’t want to mess with it. Not super crazy about the verb “emphasized”-- (“inspired”?) but I’m being picky!
Best wishes!!
