i take piano lessons at home and would like to continue in college. does anyone know if there are any opportunities to take lessons through the school?

Yes, there are! My daughter has been studying piano for the past two years (and also participated in university orchestra as a cellist). She loves her teacher, (Dr. Francis Conlon, I believe). We paid $400. for the lessons per semester…and she gets academic credit. A 1/2 lesson is 1 credit per semester and an hour’s lesson is 2 credits. These credits count toward your 120 credits needed for graduation (as elective credits) and also count for the 3 credits of Creative Arts General Curriculum requirements. She had to audition (play a prepared piece or two and possibly sight read a piece) only to determine what level she played at and which teachers then she could be placed with. She met with a few of them and chose Dr. Conlon as she felt he would be a good fit with her.
