I always hear that colleges want students of all backgrounds, extracurricular and perspective-wise for “diversity”.
If the college has no debate team, and an applicant is a National debate champion, how would that be looked upon? Favorable for extracurricular diversity? Or nothing favorable in particular because since theres no debate team, the applicant would not bring much to the college.
