Extracurricular Mathletes Common App Essay; help?

<p>Here is my essay as of right now.</p>

<p>Mathletes is known to some as “social suicide” due to the popular and quotable film Mean Girls, and to others, it is simply known as a club having something to do with math, I, on the other hand, know Mathletes to be more.
In reality, Mathletes is a club where students compete against other students from varying high schools in math-related topics. To me, Mathletes is where I have seen myself learn and grow throughout the past four years with the magic of numbers.
Mathletes is where I can test my knowledge through the competitions. Seeing myself get a perfect score is probably one of the best feelings; knowing that the hard work and effort I put into learning the certain topic was enough.
It’s all a team effort though, there’s no hoping that someone does worse than you. Seeing as the members in Mathletes slowly diminished throughout the years has only brought the remaining six members get closer, something that wouldn’t have otherwise occurred.
I’m sad to say that this will be my last year but I believe Mathletes has prepared me for what I when I’m studying in college, seeing as I want to major in Mathematics.</p>
