Extracurricular on applications

Hi,

Don’t know if any of you would know, but I thought I would give it a shot since some of you have already gone through the process. So, on some secondaries, there are questions asking about work history and activities. However, I went into quite a bit of detail about these in my primary. So, the question is, how much detail should I go into on the secondaries? Should I just list EC and job titles and years involved? Should I write a shorter description than that used in my primary (Character limit won’t allow for the full description). Any info is appreciated. Thanks

P.S. for short answer topics that have already been addressed in my personal statement, should I just restate what I mentioned in my PS (albeit in a new way) or should I try to come up with something new. Thanks,

You should try to come up with new angles or anecdotes but don’t feel bad about restating what’s in your primary. Have you seen the Columbia secondary? It basically asks you to list out the exact EC’s you’ve already inputted into your primary. Seriously, the secondary is nothing more than a $$$ maker for these schools.

What do you mean by saying that the secondary is just a money maker?
