Extracurricular Rec Waived?

My extracurricular rec didn’t end up arriving at one of one of the schools I applied to. I asked the recommender to resend the form, but it is difficult considering they are overseas. On lionlnks, it says that my extracurricular recommendation has been waived. My extracurriculars are the most unique components of my application, and I don’t think Exeter will look at me as favorably without this rec. Should I have someone else submit a recommendation as soon as possible, or just accept the fact that my app is being read without it?

If you could reach your recommendation writer, perhaps they could use the on-line recommendation site Exeter uses (which is handy for internationals who have internet access), or send an e-mail or fax. If you cannot reach them, perhaps asking the admissions office if it would be OK to substitute another extracur. rec if you have another possibility ?

And you’ve certainly described them elsewhere in your application, so the AOs are aware of them. Yes, you can certainly try to get that recommendation in using Exeter’s online system, or by email or fax, as already suggested, but if it doesn’t get there, it shouldn’t be a disaster.
