Extracurriculars and student organizations at Northwestern?

Please list and describe some extracurriculars and student organizations for undergrads at Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences? :)

Check out this site, which lists 380 of them: [Wildcat Connection - Organizations](<a href=“- Wildcat Connection”>- Wildcat Connection) Membership in clubs is open to all schools.

Some popular ones when I was there (I’m a 2011 grad): Boomshaka, Fusion Dance, SASA (South Asian Students Alliance), Alianza (Hispanic/Latino), KASA (Korean American), CSA (Chinese), Graffiti Dancers, Happiness Club, BLAST (Ballroom Latin and Swing Team), Dance Marathon, InNUvation (social entrepreneurship), Northwestern Wildside (fostering school pride), Northwestern University Conference on Human Rights (NUCHR), A&O Productions (speakers and concerts), various a cappella groups. Watch out for their events.

Be proactive in signing up for lists during the org fairs (which you should NOT miss-- force yourself to go if you have to) and following up with the first meetings of clubs you want to join (also force yourself to attend these if you have to, otherwise you just might end up not joining as the year goes on).

Here’s a list of Northwestern’s a cappella groups:

Asterik
Aural Fixation
Brown Sugar
Catatonics
Extreme Measures
Five Minutes of Fame
Freshmen 15
Harmony in Spirit
Klein Four Group
Melisma
Purple Haze
ShireiNU
Significant Others
Thunk
Treblemakers
Undertones
X-Factors

And if you enjoy theatre, you could see (or participate in) a different performance several times EVERY week at NU. I think student groups produce over 60 shows a year – very possibly more than on any other campus in the world.

MyD is a 2009 grad, and she loved all the IM sports opportunities available - and earned All-Star status in BBall and Frisbee Football, playing for her dorm.

She also joined a club sport - different from all her HS sports - and wound up playing for NU in Germany, Ireland, England and Scotland.

It was particularly useful when she did study abroad at Edinburg, as her team was like a family that she met when playing in Germany.

Go cats!
