Please recommend me something I can do… I want to work at an accounting office during the summer, but I don’t know where to find any and how to ask them… if anyone has some advice let me know

For an accounting office job, you can look on job recruitment sites like indeed.com that list job opportunities. If your school has an office that deals with work permits and opportunities, I would go there and ask if there are any openings they know of. Your ECs look excellent!

You can also just do a search for accountants in your area and then write to them directly. Many accountants work out of small offices that would not typically consider hiring an intern. However, they may need a helping hand and be open to any possibilities you suggest.

It is unlikely that an accounting office would hire you for anything other than basic clerical type duties which you could do at any type of company. Typically the meaningful internships at large accounting firms are given to students with 3-4 years of college accounting (many CPA candidates go on for a one year masters in accounting and intern the summer between college graduation and grad school). Also keep in mind that summer is generally a quieter time for accounting firms. If your family knows anyone who works for an accounting firm, that may be a good way to try and get in the door.

I don’t think you need to tailor a summer job to try to make a college application look good. FWIW I know plenty of lifeguards and camp counselors who got into excellent colleges. Do something you are generally interested in.

I think you are doing just fine with what you’ve got. Colleges have a lot more respect for kids who work than they used to. You’ve got that, plus a lot of other interesting things. There are lessons to be learned even in the most menial of jobs - you’ll have plenty of time to stress about accounting internships when you hit college.
