Extracurriculars

Since my freshman year till now (Senior year), I’ll be honest, I haven’t joined any school club. But, I have done volunteer work. For the last 4 years, I’ve been an instructor at a martial arts school. This is not a job, its a unpaid volunteering activity. I taught regularly and I still continue to do so. Another one is, for the past year, I’ve been volunteering at a clinic. Now, I know that I should have done more school clubs, but there is no point realizing it now. But, as senior year is about to start, I am enrolling in clubs based on my interest. But, keeping my extracurricular activities in mind and considering an above average academic record, do I have a positive chance at getting an admission. Colleges I am looking at are: NJIT, Rutgers, Montclair State University, Penn State, U-Pitts.

Thanks

It’s hard to say whether or not you can get in without knowing your SAT/ACT scores and GPA, but when it comes to your extracurriculars, it may be too little too late to get involved with everything heading into your senior year. Colleges want to see length and time put into your extracurriculars, not just a bunch of clubs that you didm;t do much for. The martial arts instructing sounds great, however. Best of luck.
