Hey everyone! I just have a small question on what counts as a extracurricular. So basically I resell stuff like clothes, airpods, jordans, etc on facebook market place/ebay/insta/etc and make a consistent 2-3k every month off it (Best month was 6kish and in total of 2 years I made $51,288). Even though I did the marketing and selling all by myself (after the 1 1/2 year mark I got some people to help me manage my online store) I had help from my friends by asking/borrowing money from them and giving them back their money. Could I mention it as a ec? I’m a sophmore applying for sohpmore year again.
I would definitely mention/highlight this experience! I’ve known a couple of students with entrepreneurial experience who were very successful with their BS applications. I think BS (and eventually colleges) see leadership potential, resourcefulness and motivation in students who start small businesses. Being able to describe how you developed your business plan, marketing strategies, and any lessons learned/obstacles you’ve overcome is powerful too. Might make for a good essay topic if it fits a prompt. Good luck!
I personally love your unique story. Ec is anything you spend your time doing outside of straight school academics. It is all about the delivery. Consider how you serve up your entrepreneurial focus. Creating a successful business ( or even one that fails) at a young age is super impressive. Consider Faid ramifications and what happens to your biz once you attend BS.
