<p>So I recently went to my family physician for my annual checkup and to get my meningitis shot for college and we were talking about how I was going to major in mathematics at Cal. She then nonchalantly tells me that her father in law in fricken Isadore Singer the MIT Mathematics professor and Abel Prize winner. A few days later I get an email from her saying that she talked to him about me and that if I needed anything I should contact him. The next day I get an email from John Lott, a mathematics professor at Berkeley and who apparently had Singer as his PhD advisor at MIT, saying how that he would like to talk to me. Is that like beyond lucky or what?</p>

<p>hhahaha I had Lott for Math54. I remember he woke me up in class and all the silly quotes he had. “Let’s use some math I learned on the streets” lol good times.</p>

<p>Cool experience with some great people. Can’t say I’m not jealous! I wonder what he would want to talk to you about though. It’s not like you were asking around for a job or something so it’s a bit obscure.</p>
<p>well my doctor asked her father in law who i should connect/network with and then he contacts me so i assume its about that</p>
