inthe garden- I’m low end gifted but my more intelligent gifted friends were more interesting to be with than those I was frustrated by by with their not getting things/being into academics as much as I was. Never a good fit for the mainstream. btw- you can tell the differences from the average college person (who is above average) and those who are standard deviations from the mean through subtle things in everyday life. It is not a matter of how much education but how people problem solve (or not).
Friend is also not a single definition thing.
I get how introverted people need their down time but they also need to understand how the opposite types need social contacts. I guess since the majority is on the extroverted end of the spectrum more attention is paid to needs of the minority.
I like the concept of Venn diagrams- overlapping circles. Different common things for the different people we relate to and who relate to each other. Enjoy those and don’t worry about the other aspects. Call that friend who never considers doing it but can enjoy the interaction.
