Hey everyone, I’m a bit of a stranger to the big corporate suit and tie scene. Most of my experience has been in the entertainment industry with the major networks and studios working more in the creative end. However I’m really fascinated by the underlying business models that ultimately let the creatives do their thing and strive to be as aware os possible.

I might have the opportunity to go for an entry level position at Ernst and Young with their Entertainment and Media Advisory group which would be an awesome position for someone like me right out of undergrad. I’d be able to develop the core business skills related to the entertainment industry which might lead to many different things.

I know EY is one of the big four when it comes to auditing but I’m trying to get a good idea of what the company does beyond that and get as much insight as possible into what I’d be doing if I worked for EY in that specific department.

What exactly is the difference between a consulting and professional services? There seems to be some overlap, but the two are considered different. So what exactly are the differences?

Any insight would be most appreciated.
