Had cataract surgery 10 months ago. Would that preclude the use of such?

That is just not appealing to me at all 
. But I admit I don’t know what they do other than remind me of Geordi LaForge.
We did a White Elephant exchange at work for Christmas this year. That was one of the gag gifts. 
I ended up with it, so we all tried it at home. I’m not sure what their intent is, but it felt like a massage chair on my eyes. It was sort of weird.
It’s fine to use 10 months out from surgery. I guess the question is, what are you trying to accomplish? What’s bothering you?
Really just for relaxation at the end of the day and get to sleep a little easier. I am one who finds the barber chair experience so relaxing and just want to find the same type of sensation so to speak.
I’d try a Bruder Mask. They release moist heat like the barber towel. Just know you’ll likely be a little blurry for a few minutes after the first handful of times you use it. It’s meant to get the meibomian glands flowing. If yours are clogged at all, and most peoples are, it’ll melt the thick meibum and release it into year film. Look up meibomian gland dysfunction.

My daughter has migraines and I bought her the Therabody heated/massaging eye mask for Christmas, she really likes it!

My ophthalmologist recommended similar treatment (my eyes water really easily and I’ve had retinal repair in the past). I ordered this and it’s terrific - I can set a timer for 10 minutes and just lay down; incredibly soothing. I also sometimes put a thin damp cloth on top of my eyes before laying it on top to enhance the effect.
I used it every day for maybe a week? And now just on occasion - helped tremendously!

Wow, thanks for the eye mask recommendation. I have clogged oil glands. The vision in my right eye is blurry because of them (according to my ophthalmologist). I hope this helps!
