Eyelash (color) dying?

Has anyone every had their eyelashes dyed? I have light hair & always had sparce lower eyelashes. Having spent most every weekend this summer at the beach, my lower lashes are so light, they are unnoticeable.

I asked my hairdresser if she could dye them, but it turns out it’s illegal in NJ for beauticians to do it. Googled around and found several ‘spas’ in NYC that advertise the service.

Any thoughts?

I’ve had it done in the past. It’s nice because you wake up with dark lashes but it doesn’t add the volume that mascara does. I now just have my eyebrows done (waxed and tinted every 5 weeks) but use mascara for my lashes.

I just hate mascara and my eyelashes are also short, so it clumps, which is another reason I thought dying might be a better solution. Right now, I just wear eyeliner. If I don’t wear eyeliner, I look ill due to the pale eyes, as the rest of me is quite tan.

I have triple thick eyelashes that are so long they hit my glasses. Too bad they are strawberry blond!
( so are my eyebrows, but they are thin)
I’ve had them dyed in the past, which was great, since when i wear mascara it ends up all over my lenses, although I don’t anymore as I had concerns about heavy metals in the dye.

There may be things available to darken lashes that aren’t as dangerous- maybe with walnut extract? But as your eye is obviously a very sensitive area, and it is also very difficult to have complete control over liquid close to the eye- better safe than sorry.

Now I use a brow tint for my lashes from Paula Begoun. It stays on pretty well.

i have very sparse, blond lower lashes. I had the same issue with mascara clumping and looking weird. What worked best for me was Latisse. For the first time ever, I have bottom lashes worthly of mascara. I also use a mascara made by Clinque designed especially for bottom lashes - the brush is really small and makes application easier.

My esthetician was looking into being trained to do eyelash extensions. I don’t think she ever did but if you google Novalash it will give you information about this procedure.
