Aw, darn.

My dermatologist is encouraging me to use Latisse- says the eye color change is very rare and often tied to people who actually get the drops into their eyes. You have to google for which iris colors are most prone. My question is, what about the lower lashes (aren’t you supposed to use it only on top?)

And my facial gal said as the eyelash extensions come off, they can take natural lashes, too, because of the glue. ??

This worries me along with the bad week where they are basically falling off.

I know the eye color change is very rare, but my eye color is such a distinguishing feature to me that I just don’t want to take any chance on changing it.

Re the lower lashes, you don’t do anything to the lower lashes, either with Latisse or with extensions.

FWIW, I didn’t have any problem with the eyelash extensions pulling out natural lashes. And the “bad week” still looked fine - just not as lush as when they were freshly done.

I would not risk my eye color either! :)

I have light blue eyes and this concerns me, too. However, the dermatologist who “prescribed” Latisse for my blue-eyed sister said that there had been no reported cases of eye color change resulting from use of the product as a lash enhancer (at least as of a year or so ago). The same compound is used in drop form to treat (I believe) glaucoma; the rare instances of eye-color change were in those patients, who apply drops directly into the eye. Still, it is definitely something to consider. It is part of the reason I’ve been reluctant to try it.
