Fa!!! Acceptances!!! Yay!!!

I received enough financial aid… Yay!!! Lol… and I got into a lot of great schools!!! I feel like I’m the only one still jumping up and down! So, my question is, who else is sooooo excited about next year???

edit: I read that over and, errrr, I don’t mean to sound so braggy

So did I!! I got 90% of the tuition payed for!!!

Yay!!! Congrats!

me2!!! 90% scholarship, i’m SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO happy!

me too!!! im super siked!!! what revisits r u going to

Does it really matter how much financial aid one received? Yes, it’s alright to be happy with the amount of financial aid the school was generous enough to give you. But to flaunt it on the internet in front of a myriad of people who probably can’t attend due to monetary issues? It seems…tactless.

Sorry that we are happy, but I didn’t go to boarding school last year because I didn’t get enough FA and I personally think that we have a right to be as happy as we want, especially in a thread titled ‘Fa!!! Acceptances!!! Yay!!!’

I did not say you should be ashamed of your acceptance or your happiness. But people are putting their exact amount of financial aid out there–place yourself in the shoes of someone who applied to, say, their dream BS–however, this school couldn’t give them enough money. Now someone comes along and states how they received so much in financial aid and are sooo happy they are going to the school that you can’t go to. Wouldn’t you be a little perturbed?

I’m so excited, too! I got into my favorite school with almost 90% F.A.! Ahhh! I am so happy!

indieprince, this is no different than people posting acceptances and celebrating that, when some people were rejected everywhere they applied.

@AGSAABS: Peddie gave you 90% ?

“indieprince, this is no different than people posting acceptances and celebrating that, when some people were rejected everywhere they applied.”

I find it different, for the simple reason that there is no REASON to post how much financial aid you got. If someone posted a thread where they wanted to know how much financial aid one received, then yes, I suppose that would be acceptable.

Perhaps it’s a sore issue for me.

Yes!!!

i think writing about the acceptances and FA is like those silly end zone celebrations in football. you should only celebrate when the game is over and getting accepted to our dream schools is just the beginning of a long game called life.

Actually, there is some real value in posting information about acceptances and FA awards. It creates a record for future applicants who are looking into boarding school for the first time. They might wonder “where should I apply with my credentials? What kind of financial aid could I expect?” They could then do a search on CC and get some (maybe not a huge amount, but some) information from threads like this one.

I realize that emotions tend to run pretty high at this time of year. Everyone feels deeply whatever they’re feeling (happy, sad, disappointed, insulted, liberated), and understandably so. But still, participation on this board means that you are adding to the wealth of information out there that can help others in the future, and information that is contributed honestly will help (even if some posters take exception to the tone).

I’m in complete agreement, smile dog…however, this thread seems to have been created merely to gloat and flaunt. I apologize if I’m completely hearing the tone incorrectly, but it does seem a little insensitive the way this valuable information is being displayed.

smile dog makes a good point but there could be a way to collect the information that is anonmyous and more scientific with less showboating. i know some here that are crushed right now. there is a line between sharing and gloating that can get crossed real easy. i have been sharing stuff with people but in PM only. there are people here who i have gotten to know but not interested in posting my life out there for all to see.
