FA for International Students?

Among Georgetown, U.Va, Tufts, USC, UMich-Ann Arbor and UNC-Chapel Hill, which ones offer good FA (need-based or merit-based) for international students?

Thanks.

UMich doesn’t offer FA to int’ls.

*the University of Virginia does not offer any need-based financial aid to foreign national students; *

[IUNC - ]International students (those who do not hold US citizenship or permanent resident status) should understand, however, that they are not eligible to receive financial aid and should be prepared to pay the full cost of attendance for non-resident students. *

Publics don’t typically give FA to int’ls.

what are your stats?

mom2collegekids, could you help me out too? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/northwestern-university/991226-i-3-northwestern-will-they-3-back.html

You can try Northwestern; they will meet your needs fully if they accept you. They gave FA to about 10 internationals per year in the past. But unlike the “need-blind” admission for domestic students, applying for FA will reduce your chance.

intemister…

on another thread you wrote…

I did the SAT last january and got a 1950. I am retaking it in November and am very confident I’ll get around 2100-2200. Sat 2s in december, World History physics and maths and expect atleast 750s.

If you score about a 2100-2200 that won’t likely be high enough to get money from Northwestern…

These are the stats for the middle 50% of NU’s students. To have a chance at $$$, you would have to well ABOVE these numbers. You’d probably have to be in the top 5% of the school which would include those with perfect/near perfect SATs/ACTs.

With a 2100 -2200, you’d just be somewhere in the middle at NU.

Test Scores Middle 50% of First-Year Students

SAT Critical Reading: 670 - 750
SAT Math: 690 - 780
SAT Writing: 670 - 750
ACT Composite: 30 - 33

I wonder what if an intl student is accepted under a binding plan and gets some kind of fin aid, which is still not good enough, what would he need to do?
or a college just won’t accept him in the first place if it’s not ready to meet his full need?
