Has anyone seen any material changes to school financial form filing deadlines as a result of FAFSA/PROFILE changes this year? Meaning dates…
Are early action/early decision schools asking for FAFSA’s early?
I know of at least one school that has moved up its deadline for returning students from May 1 to October 17. There was an article linked here several days ago that mentioned some other schools are also adjusting FA deadlines in order to get award notifications out earlier.
Yes, my daughter’s school now requires FAFSA filed by November 1 for early application, RD deadline to be announced.
Since the 2017-2018 FAFSA and Profile will be using 2015 tax year data, why not file ASAP after October 1…picking a date when you have paid all of your bills so your assets will be lower?
I did see an article about 2 months ago that listed 5 schools that had moved priority deadlines to the fall. Of course I don’t remember these schools because none were ones I had to deal with. The article suggested to check with individual schools to see if any changes had been made.
So far, it appears to be only a few schools and not a universal trend…thx!!
