FA packages for returning students

D will be a soph next year. When can we be expecting her FA package for next year?

With the drying up of loan sources, we’re expecting to have to do a little bit more scrambling this summer. Some sort of timetable might be useful.

On another note, D did insanely well freshman year (3.97 GPA!) Is it crazy to dream that this kind of academic performance might end up in an increase in her merit aid? I can dream, can’t I?

Hello,
My d just completed her sophomore year at University of Rochester. You will receive your bill for next semester in early July with the option of the payment plans and whatever financial aid you are entitled to. Our d was invited this past semester to an event for students with high GPA and we hoped for an increase in merit money as well. The event provided information about outside grants and acheivement awards that students could apply for, outside the university, by area of interest but no additional merit money. There is some funding from the career center for summer internship or through your dept (once a major is declared) that you can apply for. D just secured some funding from career center but missed out on dept because internship had not yet been secured.

Thanks for the info, bookmama!

Ditto!! Thanks
