FA Question

I live in the state of Colorado and was placed on financial aid suspension due to my completion rate being 63% when it has to be 67%. I was on probation last semester and they told me I had to pass all my classes, and I had to take 12 or more credits to be in the clear. The problem is they are ■■■■■■■■ and gave me the wrong information obviously, because my completion rate is at a 63% instead of 72% is what they told me what it would be at. I’m going to FRCC, and wanted to know if the suspension applies at this school, or any school in the state, meaning that I can’t go to another school. Another question is if I’m at a 63% and appealed what are the chances of it not being denied. Any help in this situation would be great. I was only gonna go to this school for one more semester and apply for metro state because there is always a problem with this school. Thats why I wanted to know if it’s still possible to go to metro state. Another question is if I can’t go to another school because of this can I sue FRCC for being ■■■■■■■■, because if I would’ve took 18 credits then I would’ve had a 67% and wouldn’t be in this situation. Thanx for the help, I would ask my school, but they give 98% bad information and can’t rely on them for information.

appeal – explain the circumstances without blaming the university (no matter if it was their fault that you misunderstood), take the blame where you messed up and explain what steps you will take to change the situation. most appeals are granted the first time. make sure you take and complete enough hours to reach the 75% mark after next semester.

I thought about that too, I figured when I write my letter I’ll suck it up and not blame them even though it seriously is their fault. If I get denied can I still go to another school or am I totally screwed. Also the suspension is due to a 63% completion rate instead of a 67%, which is 4% if I am accepted and complete my classes in spring 08 I’ll be at a 69%. School means a lot to me so I’m kind of scared about the situation. Thanx for the help!

P.S any1 know what the average appeals process time takes.

bump bump bump bump

Could you please explain what the “completion rate” means? Does this mean that your overall GPA is 67 or 63 or something? You also mention that you were on probation last semester. I’m quite confused by your post.

Completion rate is how many credits you have taken total by how many credits you have completed overall. So I’ve completed 42 out of 66 credits which is 63%
and it needs to be 67%.
