Facebook Issue

I have hidden lots of people - mostly the ones who post where they are every minute of the day. My group of FB friends are pretty much all political - candidates, electeds, etc. - so if I hid all of them, I’d have no friends.

The new privacy filters rolled out today for my facebook account. So much easier to use.

Don’t forget our CC Parents facebook group. We mainly use it as a springboard to “friend” each other and get to know the people behind the screen names. I realize not everyone is interested, but many of us have enjoyed it.

You can hide people from appearing on your feed or your wall - not just their individual posts but anything from them at all. You won’t see them unless you proactively go to their facebook profile and look. My kids both have some really annoying FB friends and that’s what they do.

As well as several other games, Fox news, etc…

Well they’re all hidden now.

I have “hidden” people who confuse their FB status with an IM “away” message. I don’t need to know that a girl I knew in hs is “making breakfast for the boys!” right now. I have also ignored quite a few friend requests and unfriended people. If I cannot remember you from high school, why do I want to “friend” you now? Just because we have a lot of friends in common doesn’t mean we were actually close then, and I don’t want people I don’t know in my network.

I use “hide” so my news feed doesn’t get out of control. I like to be able to scroll through it in a reasonable period of time. If someone posts more than once every day or two, they will probably be hidden. I don’t need to know that much about anyone I’m not close enough to call.

Thanks to this thread, I learned to block all Farmville news from my news feed! Yay!

OK, I did it. Got 2 more “political” posts on my newsfeed and this person’s posts are now “hidden”.
