Facebook Movies

I thought it was kind of fun to see what would show up as my most popular posts. Unfortunately, that popular picture was of the swim team after my son had quit and I didn’t really want a picture of mostly unknown guys in “my” movie. I had posted it because several of the team wanted a copy of the picture. I just deleted that picture and checked to see if it was still in my movie. No, it was not in the movie but my movie was also gone. Now I have about 10 still photos.

I made mine only available to one of my restricted list of family and close friends only. It was mostly family pictures. When you select share you can select who to share it with.

Hmmm. I wonder if I did something to delete my movie. I also have still pictures…but no movie. Oh well…not a crisis.

I didn’t say I objected to people posting theirs! I’ve only watched one that’s not mine, though.

Yes Thumper, they are all still pictures - sort of like a slide show.

This was my problem as well. Could not get a movie. However, if you touched the link, your movie automatcally generated and was shared without your explicit permission. But the next day, all of a sudden there was a share button.

It’s a little odd if you don’t have much content. One of my most liked posts was one that just said, “Thanks, everybody.”

Finally…an answer! Today there was a little link under my pictures (where many of the rest of you are seeing a movie)…“find out more about lookback”. Basically it says that I’m not seeing a movie because I haven’t SHARED enough content with others! I mean really…if I post a picture, why would I then need to SHARE it? Ridiculous, bit at least I have the answer!

The movies are a combination of written posts, pictures posted and “most popular” - so I’m thinking if you only have pictures posted and very few written posts, your movie is sort of incomplete. I don’t “share” pictures normally - I just post them - so I don’t think a true “share” as in using the “share” button is necessary - just enough pictures/posts posted.

Abasket…I have TONS of FB posts, but I don’t post pictures a lot. They managed to import six pictures from my picture library which has about 40. I think my issue is sharing…and the link I got actually said that. It said " You are probably not seeing a movie because you have not shared enough content".

I love my movie- it was very meaningful and so were my daughter’s and husband’s. I couldn’t wait to share it on my wall and I’ve loved seeing the movies that others have posted. I haven’t watched every single one, but I think they do manage, in most cases, to capture the essence of the person. We’ve had a lot of fun with it. There have been pictures of me in other people’s movies and it’s been fun. I’m not a very private person, though, so the sharing didn’t bother me.

I have to say I was surprised at how well mine turned out. I was really glad I looked at it and glad I posted it. I do have to say that I was lucky. All of my pictures were of people I love. Some movies I have seen have shown crafts, objects and other things that I’m sure don’t mean much to people.

What I learned from watching someone’s (friend of friend’s. . .) FB movie: February '12 - Engagement Ring! September - '12 Baby!! (couldn’t help doing the math on that one. . .)
