OK…I guess I’m the ONLY one on FB who cannot get their movie. I click on the link, and I get a sentence about how FB has been connecting folks for 10 years. Below that are six pictures (no movie arrow in the center, no play button, no share button…just pics). Below that a thank you from Mark.

It was suggested that I wait…so I’ve waited…for up to an hour.

I’ve tried this on IE with my laptop, and on my iPad using both safari and the iPad app.

I have a first generation iPad. Could that be the problem?
My laptop is about 5 years old.

ETA…everyone else says this is easy and automatic!

I tried to do it for my Mom’s FB account and it didn’t work but I thought that might be because she didn’t have enough content to make a movie. I think you do have to have a minimum amount of personal pictures for it to work. Because of the permissions, FB can’t publicly show a movie with pictures of people who don’t have their settings for everyone to see. I have another person on my FB feed who also can’t get it working if that makes you feel better.

You mean people are making these? I thought they were being sent out automatically by FB. I’m not sure why some people are picking certain pictures.

Onward…a FB member needs to click on a link to get their movie. I have more than 40 pictures on FB. The only thing I can think of…I have never SHARED one of my pictures with anyone else. Maybe that is it. If that is the case, it would be nice if the brain trusts at FB said that ON!Y those who have shared pics can have movies (or have a minimum number of posts, or pics, or,whatever the criteria is!).

You don’t get to choose which images/posts are in the movie. They automatically pick things that had the most ‘likes’ and photos that you shared based on an algorithm. For a while I could see my movie, but didn’t have the option to ‘share’ it, but later the share button showed up. @thumper1, it could be due to your lack of sharing? I’ve enjoyed viewing the FB movies!

Some of them are so silly. A friend of mine had a really funny picture of a woman he doesn’t know and posted it. It came up twice in his movie. So random. Set to this sentimental music but with random pictures that people may have “liked” for any number of reasons.

I would like to SEE my movie, but don’t necessarily want to SHARE my movie with friends on my page - do you know if I can view it, but not post it??? I’m curious, but don’t necessarily want to share!!!

I’ve enjoyed seeing everyone’s movies. Loved that mine ended with my oldest sons packing up and moving out to start his grown up life. Needed a tissue…or ten.

I saw mine last night, but no link to share it, until this morning. Since everyone else was sharing, so did I . My mother and in laws in Sweden really love to see that, and aren’t very computer savvy

I enjoyed seeing my own little movie, but it never occurred to me that others would want to see it, and I’m kind of surprised to see that people are sharing their movies with others - I’m not really all that interested in watching 100 little mini-movies!

I’m enjoying all my friends’ FB movies! I have a snow day, they’re only 62 seconds long, and sometimes it’s pretty entertaining to see what FB’s algorithm selected! I did have to mute the music, though.

Personally, I really like them. And if you don’t, you don’t have to watch them so I don’t see why you’d object to someone posting theirs. They are very short and I’ve watched most, but not the ones from people I barely know. I think it’s one of the things FB got right. I guess if you don’t want to share pictures, you can’t complain that FB doesn’t let you share the pictures.

I watched mine. It also made me choke up! Still don’t want to share it. Also brought to my attention to how much my family loves food/cooking/water/celebrating!

I was prepared to hate it, but I ended up liking mine so much I shared it. Certainly up to friends to decide to watch; I only watched the ones of people I know pretty well.

this is something we have to set up - it doesn’t automatically generate and share, correct?

I cannot think of anything I want less on my page than a movie of my photos! Aack. I have LOTS of photos, and I don’t want everyone seeing them. That’s why I have selected audiences of friends on there - different groups see different things.

If you click the link on one of your friends movies, it takes YOU ONLY directly to your movie. You can watch it and be done or you can click a button to share it. Only I watched mine, no sharing!
