Facelifts, fillers, Botox, etc

Oh yes, absolutely I would do it. I haven’t yet figured out how much difference the additional peripheral vision will be in everyday life. But I’m sure it made a difference on our recent trip for my nephew’s wedding. And OMG did I feel better seeing all the relatives whom I hadn’t seen in years. Much more comfortable in my looks.

I’m still recovering sleep from my travels and having to share room with snoring husband  so don’t yet know the effect on daily fatigue.

Admittedly, even though I had extensively researched, there were a few surprises post op in how I felt in the scalp incisions. And having to sleep somewhat upright for several days and on my back for weeks was difficult. I followed not only my doctor’s guidelines but several others I found in my research. And at my 10 day check up, my surgeon said I was way ahead of schedule re bruising and swelling and that I had done a great job. Whew.

My scalp, brows, and upper lids still have numbness which will last for maybe months. But honestly, the only times I really got upset were first when I couldn’t get all the ointment washed out of my bangs, along with the final blood clots. I was being very careful not to disturb my incisions. But finally a combination of glycerin soap and Dawn dish soap did the trick (more successful research). Then I was also upset when I couldn’t focus clearly, worried that somehow the shape of my cornea had changed. The first person I talked to at the office couldn’t give an explanation. But the next person I talked to (after the weekend of worry) assured me it was not uncommon and temporary. There was that much more light coming in. Again whew.

Quick update that my vision apparently did permanently change and I got a new prescription. I’m having the lenses replaced in my year old regular glasses, and getting new sunglasses to replace my nine years old pair. Now I just hope that my cataracts don’t suddenly get worse - I’d like to get a year or two out of these new glasses! I will keep my eyes protected from the sun at all times. If we ever get routine sunny days here in San Diego. May Grey, June Gloom, No Sky July, Fogust.

Agree, Marilyn you look great - glad it is working out to help your vision!

I ordered Omnilux LED mask. Way more money than I wanted to spend but think my walking 5x a week since the pandemic (even w/hat and sunscreen) has adversely impacted the skin… will let you know if it works, lol.

Posting my before and after pictures: I had eyelid surgery and brow lift in mid March.
I was terrified, but now am so happy I did it.

Please note: I am wearing no makeup in either pictures and I know my brows look wild :grinning:

Ok…wow! That really makes me want to do this. My right eyelid and brow are so droopy it looks like im half asleep all the time! Yours look so natural. Im a bit afraid of getting an overdone result.

Did you have a lot of bruising or downtime?

@scubasue bruising lasted a few weeks but after the first 2 weeks I was able to cover with makeup. I looked “normal” after about 3 weeks, but I look better now, it took some time to settle. No airplane travel, vigorous exercise or yoga for 6 weeks. The first 2-3 days were not fun as I could only sleep upright in a recliner. It really was not as bad as I expected.

I have done IPL several times and always get great results. This last time, though, they went too strong on my jawline and after the scabbing healed, I had a tiny spot of unpigmented skin. Oh well, I’d still do it again to get rid of all the freckling and discoloration.

What a difference ! I know you must feel so
Much better and enjoy applying eyeshadow!

You look great.
I had mine done 8 years ago and it’s still holding.
I am looking for recommendation to tighten up puffiness under my eyes. D2’s wedding is coming, so I want to a bit fresher. I have seen a lot of advertisements for temporary tightening, which is fine with me, but just don’t done which one actually works. If you have used anything that works, let me know.

Just had Dysport for the first time last week, in between my forehead and on each side of my mouth where it looks like I’m frowning. She also injected some into my upper lip to make it appear fuller without having to do filler (called a “lip-flip”). It takes a day or two for everything to settle in, but I really like the results. Not a drastic change, but I just look better, well-rested if you will. Will definitely do it again!

Is there any particular reason you chose Dysport over Botox?

I’m curious how dysport makes them look fuller.

The botulinum toxin products when injected above the lip/around the mouth relax those muscles, which make lips look fuller.

Yes, this. It’s an alternative to filler, which is a painful and more expensive procedure.

Dysport supposedly lasts longer than Botox.

Dysport, at least where I go, is cheaper than Botox.

But I did read that more may have to be used to get the same results?

I did some research and started using Caudalie Premier Cru for eye. It’s more expensive than most of eye creams I have used. I have used it for a week and I am noticing a difference. My eyes are not as puffy or tired.
Other eye creams that gives you temporary tightening under eyes become cakey after few hours. This eye cream is supposed to give you continuous improvement.
