This one has me intrigued but I haven’t pulled the trigger yet:
I’ve seen videos of people putting it on and the results happening in real time and it’s pretty impressive, if true.

That’s not been my experience, but I’m not an expert. I tried it because the dermatologist recommended it.
How many units?
Not sure how many units just for the lip because I had other stuff done as well, but she did two quick pricks on each side of my upper lip.
Wow, that’s not bad. My lips are are about 50-60% fullness of what they used to be. I might ask my derm what she thinks.
Ok, I’m going to tell you a secret I’ve kept from most everyone. I had a lower facelift, neck lift and ear reduction in March. I’ll show you the official doctor before and after photos, but won’t show my whole face. I’m 64. Most people don’t notice because when I smile, it changed my face, lifted the jowls and I wasn’t horrid to begin with. But I feel fabulous! I feel like my youthful self again! I feel Pretty again. I’m
Very well done!! How long after were the after photos taken?
Even partial photos, it is evident your were and ARE beautiful!
I’ve never heard of an ear reduction - can you explain that more?
I see lots of change on your neckline. So glad it has given you a boost - in more ways than one!
2 months
Thank you! I actually went for my consult for just my jowls and marionette lines. That is what was bothering me, I didn’t even want a neck lift, but he said it they go hand in hand. He did a deep-plane lift. I was shocked at how much better my neck looked. The jowls were sort of starting to creep into my neck.
He suggested the ear reduction. It was only $500 more since they were already doing the facelift. It typically costs $2,000. Although I couldn’t wear heavy earrings anymore, I didn’t think they were THAT bad. But I thought, well, why not? He mentioned ears and hands are an indication of our ages. I knew it was his surgeon’s eyes suggesting it p, rather than money, because my friend had hers done by him and he never mentioned it. I get them repierced next week and they really feel like they’d hold anything up, lots of plump cartilage there.
One thing I was adamant about was the corners of my mouth. I think that’s a dead giveaway. Most people’s corners turn down naturally. I do know if he had pulled a bit tighter, more would be lifted around my mouth, but I’d rather he not. He did it perfectly. Enough to lift the marionette lines, but kept my corners natural to my mouth.
You look awesome, conmama! You looked great to begin with but I can see the change and think you achieved your goal (very youthful!).
Wondered if you might want to share ballpark cost? And length/severity of recovery?
Thank you! I live in the Midwest and it was $10,500 for everything, including the anesthesiologist.
The first week is the worst, but there’s no pain. Just discomfort that OTC meds take care off. I did take a narcotic the first night as the stitches under my chin were really sore and it helped me sleep. The wrapping comes off the next day, as the drains, which were hidden by the wrapping. I was happy to get it off as everything was SO tight under my chin. But it was still there! It just takes time.
You’re really swollen the first few days, but it goes down really fast after a week. I was at a restaurant after 10 days. My hair was down, as I had lots of bruising on my neck. My friend hardly had any, so it just varies. Stitches out after a week, that was a mental lift. I felt depressed on day 3. Not that I regretted it, and I read this is very normal. I slept most of that day and was fine the next.
You have to clean and cover your stitches 3 times a day. My husband did it for me.
He didn’t want me to have the surgery and last fall after I gave my deposit he said he thought I should rethink it. I told him I was doing it and needed his support. So, his support was not saying “don’t do it” again! Lol! He never encouraged. Thankfully I had my friend who had done it to talk to, as well as my other friend who is so impressed with our results she doing it in January.
A few days before surgery he said he hoped I didn’t end up looking like Willem Defoe in Poor Things! Lol!
2 weeks out we are sitting at a restaurant and he’s says he thinks I look 15 years younger and thinks it’s the best thing I’ve ever done for myself. So that’s nice to hear.
I’ll answer any more questions in detail. Oh, my stitches are invisible now, they were at 2 months. But the incision is so well hidden to begin with.
You look amazing, conmama! I think you lips are beautiful too, as is!
Good for you for doing this for yourself! Thanks for sharing
Your surgeon did a fabulous job. Great for you to get this done!
Thank you! I wasn’t even seriously considering it until my friend told me she was doing it last October. She’s just 58, but her neck was pretty bad, way more than mine. She was just starting to soften in her jowls a bit, like I was at 58., but that wasn’t bothering her yet. But, he did the whole deep plane lift and she looks fabulous. She could easily pass for mid-40’s.
She said he was the guy to go to, and I was waiting to see how he did her face, particularly her mouth. The Guinea pig, she is brave! I booked my appointment as soon as I could and they had an opening in March. He’s typically 9 months out. She had to wait 9 months. My other friend, who is much worse than the 2 of us was waiting to see my surgery and how I turned out, since my jowls were worse (they seemed to really start dropping early 60’s)
So now she’s schedule for January! Lol!
Word of mouth with a good surgeon.
I was a nervous anxious wreck the day before.
Thanks for sharing your experience, conmama! Funny how your husband didn’t want you to do it - then said the results were great!
Nice that you could stay firm and do what you felt was right for you.
Beautiful results!
Wow! Good for you, you look fantastic. So glad you are happy with your results.
Re the downturned mouth - I’m 51 and am a very “low maintenance” pony-tail kind of person who had never done anything with my face, but in the last 2 years noticed how my resting face was a frown. (I would find myself on Zoom making an effort to “neutralize” my face by half-smiling just so it wouldn’t look like I was frowning when I wasn’t!)
After much reading and thinking about it I went in for a Botox consult and got a teeny amount in my DAO muscles along with the classic 11s and some forehead. The difference is both subtle yet impactful - I don’t look 30 years old, and I don’t have a flat shiny forehead, but wow did it make a difference. I look like myself, and my resting face is pleasantly neutral and no longer grim.
This is what I need. I am a messy bun, no make up type, but I’ve also noticed my resting face is a frown and I also do the slight smile to neutralize it. Thanks for sharing your results - I may go in for a consultation. I have no issue with my laugh lines etc
Yes, Botox can help and as well as a little well-placed filler
