FAFSA and enrollment

I am a dependent student whom has no income of her own and would like to attend classes this semester, starting on the 27th when classes resume; however, I need to be enrolled in the classes prior to being awarded any aid.

I am having some issues with that last part of the above because in order to be enrolled you have to pay for the courses up front, in full in order to be officially registered for said courses.

Do you think if I went and explained my situation to the Busaar’s office and an academic advisor that they may be lenient and work with me until aid is awarded or the course is completely paid for?

All help is appreciated.

Of you are a dependent student for financial aid, I hope you included your parent information on your FAFSA form. That YOU have no income isn’t a huge factor (many college students have little to no income). What matters is what your parents earned. Are you sure you will be receiving aid? What EFC was on your SAR when you submitted your FAFSA?

When did you apply for aid? Most schools require payment arrangements prior to classes starting.

I think you need to contact the financial aid office to see if you are getting aid. In most cases, once the aid is awarded AND you accept the award, you are left to pay only any balance. Of course, you won’t know the balance until your aid is awarded.

Call the financial aid department. See what they say.

Like I said at the start…when DID you apply for financial aid? Have you submitted everything by the deadlines? Were you selected for verification?
