<p>I recently got my government aid, which was a generous full year ride at Sac State. I have also applied to several scholarships, a couple of which I might actually win. Lately I have heard that If I win a scholarship, I have to report it, which could lower my government aid. Has this ever happened to everyone? If say I got 8000$ from pell grants and cal grants (which covers a year tuition and most books) and got 1000$ from a third party scholarship, how much might the 8000$ decrease? Will it be more than 1000$?</p>

<p>It depends on your school. Some schools would reduce your loans or work-study dollar for dollar. Some schools would reduce institutional grants.</p>

<p>I could not find anything about that on Sac State’s website</p>
