I apologize ahead of time if this has been asked before but I’m just trying to figure out the entire college admissions and applications process. I’m a rising senior and will be attending college in Fall 2016…so do I fill out the 2015-2016 FAFSA application?..I’m applying to Duke ED, so does applying ED to a school affect when I would need to complete and send my FAFSA to them? I’m looking for Federal and Pell grants as part of my financial aid as well. I’m just confused is all, any help is appreciated.
Your fafsa will be the one available on January 1, 2016. The 2016-2017 FAFSA…whic is the same as for the schoo, year for,which you are applying.

It gives the deadlines for the financial aid submission requirements for ED students. You will need to complete the Profile by November 1. It will be available for submission in early October.

And when you submit the Profile it will have enough financial information that they will be able to anticipate what federal aid you are eligible for. So if you are accepted early you will get an estimate of all the types of aid you will be offered.
