I am currently in a program. I applied to another school, considering transfering, but decided against it. Now, my FAFSA keeps changing. My #1 school choice keeps altering which is making my program yank federal aid, and in addition they are trying to claim my FAFSA shows me as non-resident (of a state me and both my parents have lived in my whole life) only because the other program I was accepted to was out of state. I’ve refused to complete my aid file or sign the offer to the program I’m not attending, but they keep trying to add themselves as my primary school. My aid has been pulled 4 times, I keep filling out forms verifying that I will be attending my current program next year, but they say their hands are tied. At this point I’ve lost my state aid for good because deadlines are passing (which amounted to $5000 this year!). Is there any way to keep the other aid office from changing my FAFSA again? At this rate I’ll end up having to drop because I can’t cover the costs without the aid they keep taking away.

Did you contact the offending school to tell them to stop processing your aid & follow that up in writing?
