Question on FAFSA household size for med school in July 2013… student info (independent for grad school) is 1 but for parent info is he still considered part of household or “in college” if we are now talking about med school… his sister is still undergrad so is number of students in college 1 or 2?
Husband self employed -no employees is his bank checking account part of family accounts or should it be under business asset?

We got a FA email from UWashington SOM and it included this statement:

I believe it is determined by whether or not you provide more than 50% of your adult graduate student’s expenses. If you provide more than 50% of the support to that person then you can add them to your household number and to the student in college. The key is "more than 50% of support so you’d need to think carefully about how the graduate school funding is happening and if you actually are providing more than 50% IMO.

If the checking account is a business account then you would not count it as a personal asset.
