Fafsa for two schools ath the same time??

How would financial aid work if a student was enrolled in two schools at the same time? I was thinking about schools with joint agreements such as RISD/Brown, MICA/Johns Hopkins, PAFA/Penn or schools like UMasss, Amherset, etc?

Would the student receive double money if applicable or would they need to alternate semesters and attend just one school at a time to receive aid?

You cannot receive federal aid at more than one school at a time. The law says that you may receive aid only if you are a regular, degree seeking student in a college. You may NOT receive federal aid as a guest student. You have to pick the school where you will be enrolling as a regular, degree seeking student - that is the school that will award your aid. I do not know of any schools that will award institutional aid to students who are not enrolled in a regular, degree seeking program of studies, either.

If the schools have a dual enrollment agreement, one school handles your aid - they know what to do & they will let you know how it works.

The above is from the Brown/RISD joint degree site. I would suggest you research this question on the schools’ sites. Your answers are easily discerned.

I think the Dual Degree Program was what I was referring to. I was thinking a student would be required to pay two tuitions but it seems some schools make financial allowances to accommodate for joint programs.
