FAFSA form: deadline for changes?

we are not taking out a loan this year. but son #1 thought he was required to fill out FAFSA form for an abroad scholarship he received.

So, i hurriedly filled it out, and realized I made a big mistake on it. It doesnt matter really as we arent using it this year, but will it make a difference for next year if i dont correct it now?

Next year we are not contributing as much to his college and he might want to take out a loan . . .

and is there a deadline or statue of limitations for changing it?

No, there’s no deadline . . . just go ahead and submit the correction. It probably makes absolutely no difference, but since it has your signature on it (after a fashion), you should probably correct it. If anything unexpected should happen, and it ends up getting used, you wouldn’t want the error to still be there.
