They won’t have to create an FSA to transfer taxes in, but will need to if they plan to sign the form electronically.
Your parents need the FAFSA ID and password anyway. Not seeing your point.
And your colleges will likely exoect them to link to the IRS Data Retrieval tool.
That question is really about whether your parent’s info will be on the IRS Data Retrieval Tool. If they filed within 3 weeks, probably not. But they can simply use the link to see if it’s there yet.
If it’s not there and you are not in a rush, just keep checking back. But if you are in a rush, just fill in the information by hand. Then later when it is there submit a “correction” by using the tool to retrieve the data.
But either way, your parents are going to need a FAFSA ID because they need to “sign” the document.
