FAFSA High EFC -> Profile?

My EFC calculated by FAFSA is 051561.
Seeing as this number is so high, is it worth it to submit a CSS Profile?
I’m applying to Ivy-League schools.

It can’t hurt.

Would under the table job fall under untaxed student income if I didn’t file?

Since the official Costs of Attendance for private schools are hovering around the $60K mark, you might get something if you file. Any income that you earned is supposed to be reported on PROFILE/FAFSA whether you filed taxes or not. Some of my kids were able to have no withholdings during summer job, did not make enough to have to file to IRS/state, but yes, they did get a w-2, and they did report the amounts on FAFSA. One year that we were verified, he was asked to provide a return, and he simply said he was not required to file, and that was that.

Cornell computed a lower family contribution for us than our FAFSA EFC. So, yes, I’d go ahead and file. You can always try the net price calculators for the schools you are applying to to see if it looks like it might be worthwhile. Good luck!
