FAFSA - IRS import?

<p>I was pleased to see that this year FAFSA has a function to import data from IRS. </p>

<p>The instructions say it may take 1 to 2 weeks after electronic submission before import works. We submitted our via Turbotax 2 weeks ago. We owed money, and the IRS has already deducted that from checking account. Import still fails. Argh.</p>

<p>HAVE OTHER USED IRS IMPORT? HOW LONG WAS TIME LAG AFTER 1040 SUBMIT?</p>

<p>People seem to be getting mixed results this year in regards to owing money and using the IRS retrieval tool. I know you can call the IRS and obtain a return transcript for verification purposes via fax…theres more info in the Retrieval Tool megathread - should be somewhere on the first or second page</p>

<p>Thanks, pch340! I missed that other thread. No definitive answers, but lots of others struggling too. Seems to be a combo of delay timing (3 weeks +) and address match issues.</p>
