FAFSA late

If my FAFSA is a day late, for example ithaca’s deadline is feb 1st, what will happen?

I’m not sure but you’ll probably end up getting less money.

They may or may not turn you down. If they do, write them a letter explaining why it was late. I only hope you have a good explanation. ;)

i doubt they’ll notice

Priority, preferred or hard deadline? Makes a difference. Hard deadline they’ll cut you off. It seams really early for that. If it’s listed as priority/preferred it means just that. The earlier the better so one day late may not be that bad. You should call and ask them.

It was priority. Good thing it’s not a hard deadline.

I don’t think that you can even file tax returns before Feb. 1st… right??

I dunno but I just got my W2 last wednesday

you can still estimate your tax returns. OMG I had to literally do the taxes for my parents because they’re so asian.

I was like “Net worth mom. NET WORTH! IT MEANS HOW MCUH MONEY DO YOU HAVE! YOU KNOW WHAT JUST GIMME THAT” It was the longest night of my life.

I can relate. I actually worked in financial aid before my kids were born, and I thought I’d pull my hair out before I got through that stupid PROFILE!! It is a lot easier to use the info than it is to pull it all together, let me tell you.

I submitted the FAFSA on time, but it was available to the school a day late. I figure it is what it is!

kelsmom:
I feel your pain. I also reviewed and processed 100’s of profiles thankful I wasn’t one of the parents. Now I just filed my first one. It was painful…
