I had already brought copies of US passport and my social security card to Hunter College’s Financial Aid Office and had verified my information (to which I was accepted and had told them my intention to enroll in the Fall). I also brought my Certification of Naturalization, but she didn’t need it.
But on the FAFSA website, it says that SSA has not recognize me as a U.S. Citizen, and I do plan on going to the SSA Office on Monday to verify that information (as I had became a citizen through my parents in October 2014).
Will this process delay my financial aid, and how long does it take for this verification to set in on the FAFSA checklist?
Please help me out and answer my questions. Thank you so much!
