I’m trying to fill out my FAFSA but it appears nothing’s filled in…I filled one out last year…do I really have to go through the whole mess of putting in every single detail again this year? I thought it filled out the rudimentary stuff for you.

Thanks!

When you start doing the new FAFSA you should have to fill in some basic information (name/ssn/birthday), then it should say that the records show you have done one previously and ask if you want to prefill. If you say yes you have to supply your PIN and it should have the FAFSA personal (not financial) info prefilled for you.

If you have entered the personal info and it has not given you the option of prefilling - the only thing I can think of is to check that you have entered your info correctly.

Also furgesson, make sure you choose the “Renew” option.

I don’t think there is a renew option any more. Just the prefill option.
