FAFSA question

For FAFSA, do we have to do the IRS Linking where it links our parents account to FAFSA or is that just optional?

I did try to link it

But even though I filled out the proper form and document it says IRS was not able to find the information :/

call IRS or be prepared to send the UC of your choice documents for verification
