You might get additional money if you do fill out at least FAFSA (Pell grant). There are few outside scholarships that cover every last cent of the COA
It’s a full tuition scholarship, but my parents do not mind covering room/board fees, etc.
No one is required to fill out the financial aid forms.
Be careful, some schools require FA forms filled out the first year, to be considered for aid in subsequent years.
If you lose the outside scholarship or your parents can’t pay the other costs for some reason, it might become necessary to apply for aid.
So check with the school.
Also you need to file the FAFSA if you want to take out the federal student loans.
