What information is carried over if you click on fafsa renewal as opposed to start a new where I assume you start from scratch? thanks
All of the basic identifying information transfers over, but I believe you need to answer dependency and income (this one is obvious) questions again. It is much faster through the renewal process to complete it.

Oh - we had job changes - that is something that can be updated even with the renewal process?
And drivers license number - she didnt have one last year but do now, can i input that now? What is the purpose of a license number on the fafsa anyway? 
Fafsa doesn’t ask who your employer is, just what your income is. You should be able to add the driver’s license. If you were to click on start a new fafsa, once you enter the student’s name, SSN and birthdate, it will determine a fafsa has previously been submitted and take you to the same place the renewal button takes you.
