Our 1040 was filed as married joint return.
The third question asks that I add lines 7, 12, and 18 for parent-1’s amount. My problem is that adding these numbers involves both parents. The fourth question asks the same, that I add 7, 12, and 18 which would yield the same amount. How do I answer these two questions for parent 1 and parent 2 without repeating the answer.
