My sister and I are both attending college, but she is married. Do I still include her in my fafsa saying that she is also attending college?
Thank you.

I don’t believe your married sister is considered a member of your household anymore. She is independent.
Its members of your household who you can put on your FAFSA as also attending college. She is not a member of your household.
So I say…no…she cannot be included on your FAFSA.
Hoping others chime in.
No, once your sister marries, she is no longer considered to be under the funding of your parents.
As @thumper1 has indicated, your sister is considered to be an independent adult. Yes, even if she lives with Mom.
Her funding status is now based on her husband’s income.
I agree with Thumper. She’s independent. Her FAFSA would include her info and her spouse’s info. She wouldn’t count you…and you wouldn’t count her.
Where does she live when not at school?
Who is paying for her education?
Your sister is in the national guard.
Please include info on both threads…your sister is married.
If my sister is in the national guard can I include her in my fafsa and can she include me in her fafsa?
Thank you.
Merged two threads with incomplete info
If your sister is married, it doesn’t matter that she is in the National Guard. Why would that make a difference per FAFSA.
Your married sister is no longer a member of YOUR household. You cannot list her on your FAFSA as a student in college because she isn’t even a member of your household now that she is married!
The married sister can be considered a member of the household if and only if OP is a dependent student & OP’s parents are supporting the sister … truly supporting her, not just giving her a little assistance here & there or letting her live in their house. If they are supporting her, then they are also supporting her husband, of course … because if they aren’t, then HE is supporting his family (himself & his wife). I suspect that the sister should not be included in the household.
