Failed ACT, how to improve?

hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

If you think a 32 is failing, regardless of where you live / what your background is, then your first step should be to stop reading this site.

I don’t know what schools you are targeting, so how can you say you “failed”? A 32 can get you scholarship $$ whern a 31 can’t; it’s that magic score. If you want to jump up to a 33, you need to figure out to pick up at least 2 points somewhere (to get an aggregate of 32.5, which be rounded up to 33, right?). If you can ramp up the prep for your next go-round from what you did this time, I’d say go for it. Otherwise, why spend the time and money taking a test that you don’t plan to do any more prep for (and yet expect a better result)?

BTW, my D scored a 31 on the ACT (took it once, because she decided she didn’t have the bandwidth to up her prep for a second time - keeping grades up wound up being more important). She’s at UC Berkeley as a STEM student (also got into UCLA). Major failure.

There is no fail in the ACT:)

You want higher than 32, keep trying, you can get there.

" In addition, my ethnicity is Asian, which forces me to score higher in order to escape educational discrimination in the United States." This is not true. If you worked harder on things other than ACT, it would probably help you more than going from 32 to 33. The intense focus on ACT/SAT to the exclusion of crafting and presenting a well rounded and interesting picture to the admissions committee is the real problem.

@Undercrackers you must be so embarrassed!

Honestly, cut the crap. You’re sounding like an undeserving, pretentious ass. People would kill to have your scores but here you are saying you “failed.” Really? You’re implying that people who don’t achieve your scores are beyond failures. This is why I think CC is toxic cancer; the people on here are incredibly rude and arrogant and intentionally make others feel bad.

Well that’s blunt.

He’s kind of right though. The perception of this website outside of it is pretty much the OP to a T.

sorry but with your test scores, I would’ve expected you to have known better than to use the word “fail” just sayin’

Thanks everyone for the support!

My retake awarded me with a 35 in grammar, 36 in math, 34 in reading, and a 27 in science. Overall, a 33 composite.
Although I am still dissatisfied with this score, I will stick to it.

For your information, the high school I got to is competitive. When I averaged the 8 scores of 8 friends, the average was 35.1. As you can see, having a score not even close to theirs feels quite depressing.
